Dots on a Rock

I suppose it’s inevitable, really. You have a nice mineral collecting hobby, and at some point you start to take photos of your collection, start to work on improving them, maybe get a microscope. Inevitably you get frustrated in not being able to capture the detail at fine scale.
Suddenly, without realizing it you have turned into that kind of person, the micro-mounter… someone who is fascinated by dots on rocks…
